- Private sector entities
Applicants must submit a proposed project where work occurs within Mexico,
or, if work is to be conducted outside of the range, the proposal should
show a clear relevance to conservation. Applied research projects should
address specific management needs and actions.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUBMIT A PROPOSAL
Applicants must read the complete Notice of Funding Availability, which
contains complete application instructions. The basic steps to completing
an application are outlined below.

STEPS TO APPLY FOR A GRANT:
- Read the Assistance Award Guidelines.
- Obtain a DUNS number. Applicants without a DUNS number need to go
to Dun
and Bradstreet website to request one.
- Develop a Project Narrative – The project narrative consists
of goals, activities, benefits, monitoring and organization overview. You
can find more detailed information in Section IV - Part C of
the Notice of Funding Availability. The narrative must include
a Project Timeline
- Develop a Project Budget – Budgets should include funded equipment,
indirect costs and program income. You can find more information
in Section IV - Part C of the NOFA. An example
can be found here at Budget Example
- Obtain a government endorsement letter from the agency responsible
for the area or species your project protects.

HOW TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION:
Applicants should make every effort to consolidate all required elements
of their proposal into one file that can be
submitted electronically to WWB_Mexico@fws.gov
All PDF files should be unlocked and not password protected. If you
send multiple messages due to file size restriction, clearly identify
your proposal and assign a number incrementally as compared to the total
number of messages you will send (Example: 3 out of 4) in the
subject line of each message.
*Please do not submit additional support materials such as reports,
newsletters, DVDs, t-shirts, etc. without prior approval.
