The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is responsible for administering the Endangered Species Act. The Act provides a critical safety net for America’s fish, wildlife and plants, and their habitats. This landmark conservation law has prevented the extinction of imperiled species across the nation, and has promoted the recovery of many others.

The Idaho Fish and Wildlife Office works in various program areas to recover and conserve imperiled species by fostering innovative public/private partnerships, employing scientific excellence and developing a workforce of conservation leaders.
