Boating Infrastructure Grants aid Sandy-damaged marinas

Sept. 16, 2013 – More than $370,000 has been awarded through the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service’s Boating Infrastructure Grants program to three New Jersey marinas that were damaged by Hurricane Sandy. Belmar Municipal Marina (Monmouth County), Silver Cloud Harbor Marina (Forked River, Ocean County) and Grassy Sound Marina (Middle Township, Cape May County) all received grants to repair and update docks, boat slips, gangways, utilities, power, water, fueling and other facilities that were damaged last October by Superstorm Sandy. The three awards were part of a $6.9 million package of competitive grants that went to six states and one U.S. territory in August.
