Over two-thirds of our nation's land is
privately owned and contains some of the most important fish and wildlife
habitat in the United States. P FW program can help out by improving and
protecting fish and wildlife habitat on private lands through alliances
between the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, other organizations, and individuals,
while leaving the land in private ownership. PFW provides technical and
funding assistance and project coordination in order to accomplish this
objective.
The Partners for Fish and Wildlife
(PFW) Program of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service was created in 1988
with the thought of providing technical and funding assistance to restore,
enhance and/or create wildlife habitat on privately owned land. This is
accomplished through voluntary enrollment in wide variety of programs
which will benefit the needs of wildlife while being cost effective for
landowners and their operations. |
