“What We Do”

The Branch of Workforce Management is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating comprehensive workforce and succession planning initiatives. Our staff coordinates the U.S. Fish & Wildlife (FWS) human capital strategies in support of the FWS Strategic Plan. We also review, evaluate, and implement human capital management policy, guidance, and other relevant laws and regulations from the Department of Interior, the Office of Personnel Management, the Office of Management and Budget. Activities include reporting quarterly scorecard assessment of FWS progress in the Strategic Management of Human Capital for the President's Management Agenda (PMA); planning and implementing software solutions to meet FWS human resource needs, including automated recruiting, staffing, and time and attendance solutions and other human resource database management solutions; engaging in Human Resource Lines of Business (HR LOB) initiatives; compiling human resource data for various annual audits and reviews; and, providing general oversight and support of information technology (IT) and Web site development in the Division of Human Capital. We work for you to plan the FWS future together!
