What is the Student Loan Repayment Program?

The Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP) is a recruitment and/or retention incentive that allows Federal agencies to make payments towards outstanding student loan debts.

Who is eligible for the SLRP?

The SLRP can be used as a recruitment incentive when the agency predicts or encounters difficulty filling a vacant position with a highly-qualified candidate from outside the Federal sector. The SLRP can also be used as a retention incentive to retain an employee(s) that has critical knowledge/expertise and who would be likely to leave Federal Service in the absence of offering loan repayments.
