4 Hour Annual Mandatory Training Requirement
The Department of the Interior requires all supervisors and managers to complete a minimum of 4 hours of training related to EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity) and / or Diversity annually per Equal Opportunity Directive EOD-1997-14 issued August 12, 1997. The training is required annually by fiscal year. The EEO/Diversity Training is in compliance with the guidelines of the Strategic Plan for Achieving and Maintaining a Highly Skilled and Diverse Workforce FY 2005-2009. This plan enables the Department of the Interior and the FWS to make significant contributions toward achieving and maintaining a highly skilled and diverse workforce. The plan can be reviewed on the Department of the Interior's Office of Civil Rights website under the Workforce Diversity category.
