Refuge provides aid after storm
After Hurricane Sandy dumped up to three feet of snow in areas of West Virginia, Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge in Davis signed a mutual aid agreement with the Tucker County Office of Emergency Management to assist with snow removal. Fuel was provided for trucks and to power generators. The refuge is still without power and all roads at the refuge are closed. Staff continue to assess the situation.
