Storm impacts Eastern Shore

Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge received about nine inches of rain after Hurricane Sandy made landfall on the east coast. There are downed trees on Wildlife Drive and flooded areas on county roads. Activities have been cancelled, as staff are waiting for conditions to improve before fully assessing refuge conditions.
