And it rained and rained
Hurricane Sandy pummeled several national wildlife refuges in the mid-Atlantic area with rain. During a 10-hour period on Oct. 30, rain guages measured 8 inches at both Prime Hook refuge in Del. and Chincoteague refuge in Va. Six inches poured down on Blackwater refuge in Md. Refuge employees will assess damages in the coming days.
