The environmentally-friendly design of the Cusano Environmental Education Center has been cited with various awards including:

Closing the Circle Award 2000
The awards recognize federal employees and their facilities for efforts which resulted in significant contributions to or have made a significant impact on the environment.  The CEEC was recognized as a 
"Model Facility Demonstration."  The award will be presented at a White House ceremony this summer.

Federal Energy Saver Showcase  Facility
The award was presented in Kansas City, Missouri on June 3rd at Energy 2001, an Energy Efficiency Workshop and Exposition.

 

Most recently it was selected as one of the top ten Green Projects by the American Institute of Architects (AIA)
