Why do I get Error Reading Linearized Hint Data when I try to open a PDF file using Adobe Acrobat Reader 5?

If you are using Internet Explorer or Netscape to go to a URL containing a PDF file, you may get the error message Error Reading Linearized Hint Data when you try to open some PDF files using Adobe Acrobat Reader. You can correct this problem in Adobe Acrobat Reader 5 by:

1. Open the Adobe Acrobat Reader
2. Click Edit
3. Click Preferences
4. Click General
5. Click Options
6. Uncheck Allow Fast Web View
7. Click OK to save the changes.

4. Select Internet in the table on the left.
5. Uncheck Allow Fast Web View
6. Click OK to save the changes.
