Water, Water, Everywhere!

The Hagerman National Fish Hatchery uses nearly 30,000 gallons per minute of water to raise steelhead for the Lower Snake River Compensation Plan. The Hatchery collaborates with many partners to ensure that the spring flows of the Eastern Snake River Plain Aquifer (ESPA) continue to supply the clean, cold water needed to produce quality steelhead smolts.
