Rob Klumb - Fisheries Biologist

Rob Klumb earned his Bachelor's of Science Degree at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1990 in Biology and Biological Aspects of Conservation.  He earned is Master's of Science Degree at University of Wisconsin-Steven's Point in 1997 with an emphasis in Natural Resources-Fisheries.  Rob earned his Doctor of Philosohy at Cornell University in 2002 with an emphasis in Natural Resources-Fisheries.

Rob Klumb is the lead research biologist for this office.  His current projects include developing a bioenergetics model for juvenile pallid sturgeon and assessing the rearing habitats of young of the year asian carp and documenting the composition of young of the year fish assemblages in the Missouri River.

Rob is also an adjunct professor at South Dakota State University-Brookings.  Rob is currently advising three graduate students including research in a pallid sturgeon bioenergetics model, spatially assessing the habitat quality and growth potential for hatchery-reared juvenile pallid sturgeon stocked in the Missouri River, and a Missouri River macroinvertebrate study.
