Special events will be posted on this site as they come up. At this time we have no special events scheduled.

The Fish Springs Christmas Bird Count, Sunday December 30, 2007.
After last year's record counter turnout of 17,we have even bigger plans this year. For those who to come the night before or stay the night we have a brand new Refuge bunkhouse capable of hosting 16 people.
We were, sadly enough, beaten fairly by Ouray NWR in our friendly competion last year. I have charged my count Captains with redeeming the Refuge's honor.
Count will start - 9 AM or so and will continue until dusk. We will then retire to the bunkhouse for a chile feed.

Prior to the count you must register with the Audubon Society. There is a $5 fee.
