Road Conditions/Maps
"Riding the Pony"

(A local phrase used in regards to traveling the Pony Express Route between Fish Springs and Dugway.)

The Pony Express road is typically rough with corrugations and small pot holes.
The dirt road off the end of HWY 174 gets bad with rain. The road due south of the Refuge
to the Weiss Hwy is very rough but passable.

Roads to the west of Fish Springs can be very slick when wet. Please call the Refuge for
current conditions.
