Camping, Pets Etc.

Fees - No fees are required.
Fishing - No fishing allowed. The fish are small Utah chub and the threatened Least Chub.
Camping - Sorry camping is regulated to special purposes only.
Fires and swimming are not permitted..
Pets - Pets must stay on a leash.
Boating -
Boating is allowed August 16th to April 14th (no gas motors) on areas open to the public. Boating is closed from April 15 to August 15. The water is very shallow 6 to 12 inches in most areas.
Wildlife Observation - Wildlife observation, photography, and hiking are permitted except where restricted by signs.There is an 11 mile self guided auto tour route which is open all year.
Interpretive signs are provided along this route.
Parking lots are available or you may park where you do not obstruct roads and dikes.

Information - is available at our visitor contact station located at the main entrance. While you are there please take a moment and sign our visitor log.
Rest area - The Refuge has an area called the Thomas Ranch Watchable Wildlife Viewing Area. It has shade, tables and a toilet.

Drinking water - and a 24 hour fully accessible restroom are located at the refuge headquarters.
A pay telephone is located by the Refuge entrance.

Plants and animals are protected. Molesting, disturbing, injuring, destroying or removing any plant or animal is prohibited.

Litter is ugly - please use the trash barrels.

Firearms or other weapons are prohibited except as noted in the hunting regulations.

*Tours can usually be arranged for organized groups if refuge staff is contacted ahead of time.

* Office hours are 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Monday - Friday.
