Project Description: This project developed an up-to-date, reliable Geographic Information System (GIS) data layer of dam locations and attributes in North Carolina for use in fish passage analysis and planning. The project, carried out by the North Carolina Center for Geographic Information and Analysis, located and described close to 4,700 dams within the State. This information was incorporated into the Fish Passage Program's National Inventory of Barriers database and will be used in fish passage analysis and planning.
