Objective/purpose: Collect scientific data necessary to establish the effectiveness AND safety of SLICE® to control mortality caused by external parasites in a variety of freshwater fish species.

Target pathogen(s): parasitic copepods
Method of administration: Medicated feed treatment
Treatment concentration: 50 µg emamectin benzoate per Kg of fish biomass per day
Treatment regimen:

7 days (consecutive).

SLICE® should be administered as a single treatment event, with no repetition of treatment.

Withdrawal period:

60 days

Required test parameters: Investigator must collect mortality data, coupled with case history and analyses of parasite load, throughout the 5 day pre-treatment, treatment, and 28 day post-treatment periods. Investigator must also report general fish behavior and any adverse effects relating to treatment.
Limitations or restrictions on use:

Investigator must follow all instructions in the Study Protocol for INAD 11-370 regarding drug acquisition and handling, fish treatment and disposition, and data reporting requirements.

Investigator must complete Facility Effluent Information Form and obtain NPDES acknowledgement/permission for discharge of SLICE® before use under the INAD. Click on the "Supplemental Environmental Requirements Information" link in the far left panel for detailed instructions.
