Project Description:

Bull trout are listed as a Threatened species under the endangered Species Act of 1973 as amended and require protection. Lake trout, which are not native to the system, have been introduced and threaten the bull trout populations. The invasion of Glacier National Park lakes by lake trout represents an ongoing threat; five of 14 lakes have already been invaded.

Project Outcome: The project documented the extent of lake trout movement and status of bull trout populations in lakes not known to contain lake trout in order to determine the need for and potential placement of barriers to protect remaining lake trout free waters.
