Last Day Fire, Charles M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge

The Last Day fire was started by lightning on August 20th on Charles M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge, located 35 miles north of Winnett, Montana. It was safely controlled within 4 days, with 360 acres burned on the refuge and 133 acres burned on adjacent land managed by the Lewistown Field Office.
This fire was reported 100 percent contained on August 23.
