Grassland Bird Habitat Increased at Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge

Link to Northeast Region, USFWS; map of regionIn a cooperative project with the Northeast Region's Chesapeake Bay Field Office, Delaware Bay Estuary Project has helped the Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge with a habitat improvement project by providing $5,000 for the purchase of native warm season grass seed. The seed will be used to convert approximately 70 acres of agricultural fields to a warm season grass and forb meadow. The site is part of the newly acquired Lofland Tract, which will provide habitat for grassland birds.
