Quota Deer Hunt Procedures: 2012-2013 Season

Quota Hunt applications and all payments may now be processed online. Read and review the following information regarding all procedures.

 

Quota Hunt permits are required for the Gun Deer Hunt. There is a $12.50 fee per permit. All Permits are non-transferable and nonrefundable and must be in the possession of each hunter during the Quota Hunts.  

A total of 200 permits will be issued for the Adult Deer Quota Hunt occurring December 1-2, 2012. A total of 200 permits will be issued for the Youth Deer Quota Hunt occurring October 27-28, 2012.

Important Dates

  • Application Period: July 9, 2012 - August 13, 2012
  • Drawing and Hunter Notification: August 17, 2012
  • Adult Quota Deer Hunt – December 1-2, 2012
  • Youth Quota Deer Hunt – October 27-28, 2012

 

How to Apply for Quota Hunts

Online Applications

You can now apply for quota hunts online. Online applications are the quickest and easiest way to apply and provide you with a confirmation number for your records once your application is complete. If at all possible, complete an online application.

Paper Applications

If needed, you can get a quota hunt application by calling the refuge office at 870/364 3167.
If you choose to submit a paper application, it must be received, not postmarked by August 1, 2012. Please mail completed applications to Pond Creek NWR, c/o Kinsail Corporation, P.O. Box 7087, Arlington, VA 22207. Be sure to clearly and accurately complete all the information on the application form as incomplete or illegible applications will be discarded. Online applications are strongly encouraged to ensure that applications are received in a timely and complete manner.

Group Applications

Up to five hunters may apply as a hunt party. If you are applying online, you will be able to enter the other members of your group during the online application process. You will only need to enter your hunt selections once during the process, but you will need the name and address information for the other hunters in your group. Any online applications that are received separately will be treated as separate groups. If you are applying by paper application form, you will need to complete a separate application form for each hunter in your group and submit them all together to the address listed above. Only complete the hunt selections on one application. Any paper applications that are received separately will be treated as separate groups.

Please note, submissions of any person’s name more than once for the same Hunt Type will result in disqualification.
