Thank-you to everyone who helped at the 2013 Kids' Fishing Day event at Entiat NFH. There were a lot of kids who were able to catch a large rainbow trout. Unfortunately many had to wait to fish and some did not catch a fish. We started an Entiat schools Fishing Field Trip program in September 2014 where grades 1st-8th each spend a day at the hatchery and learn about fishing with an opportunity to catch a fish from the pond. We will not be having a public Fishing Day Event in 2014 as we are putting our efforts into the field trips for the local school kids and since the pond cannot handle the type of pressure we had in 2013.

A special thank you to our event partners:

  • Entiat Boy Scout Pack 16
  • Entiat Ranger District of the U. S. Forest Service
  • Friends in Support of Hatcheries (FISH)
  • Hatchery Friends and Neighbors
  • Mid-Columbia Fisheries Resource Office -USFWS
