About Us
Entiat National Fish Hatchery (ENFH) is located in central Washington about 24 miles north of Wenatchee in Chelan County. The hatchery site is approximately 7 miles from the confluence of the Entiat River and the Columbia. It sits on a beautiful 37 acres of land along the Entiat River and can be reached by traveling up the Entiat River Road off of Highway 97A. It is one of three hatcheries in the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery Complex (LNFHC). Entiat NFH was authorized to be built in 1939 by the Grand Coulee Fish Maintenance Project. It was constructed by the Bureau of Reclamation as one of the fish mitigation facilities for Grand Coulee Dam, Columbia Basin Project
The Entiat NFH is open to visitors year-round. The hatchery provides special events and educational activities that are co-sponsored with hatchery partners. People can enjoy a guided or self-guided tour throughout the facility and grounds. The hatchery is staffed by three employees who currently are raising coho salmon on site. Please call 509-784-1131 for more information about group tours and dates of hatchery activities and special events.
