Candidate Conservation/ Listing
The UCFWO researches and develops recommendations for species listings, and works to implement actions for sensitive species candidate conservation. Office staff have been conducting, or assisting other offices, with candidate assessments, status reviews and petition responses for species such as Greater sage grouse (1) (2), west slope cutthroat trout, and plant species such as Umtanum desert buckwheat, and basalt daisy.
Office staff assists state and federal agencies, organizations, Tribes, landowners, and others on Candidate Conservation Agreements (CCA).
