Information Technology Management

The Upper Columbia Fish and Wildlife Office provides Information Technology Management services to its own office as well as for three National Wildlife Refuges in Washington and Idaho and one law enforcement office. It also provides assistance with our web design and publishing.

Geographic Information System

This office coordinates and completes Geographic Information System (GIS) maps and graphics, and GIS related activities for the UCFWO area of responsibility in central and eastern Washington and northern Idaho. We provide general and site specific maps for FWS biologists use in recovery plans, reports, and presentations. Our GIS maps are also used to organize and display data which shows species range, different types of habitat and recovery zones, land ownership, streams, rivers, and lakes for official reports and public presentations.

Projects have included the development of maps displaying proposed bull trout critical habitat, land ownership, and county boundaries for use at public hearings, and information meetings.
