SANDHILL CRANES PAHRANAGAT NWR

A prescribed burn before Thanksgiving 2004 opened up an area previously filled with mature, decadent vegetation. The open area with newly green vegetation has attracted Greater Sandhill crane use in February and March at the refuge.
