  • UPDATE - The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service invites the public to Moapa Valley National Wildlife Refuge on Saturday, October 6, 2012, for a fun and educational evening of exploring the night sky.

    “Evening Under the Stars” begins at 7:00p.m. at Moapa Valley National Wildlife Refuge and will conclude at 9:00p.m. Rob Lambert, as well as other members of the Las Vegas Astronomical Society, will be providing the opportunity to view galaxies, double stars, nebulas and other spectacular space objects through telescopes. For both the experienced astronomer and the casual observer of the night sky, this is a unique opportunity guaranteed to delight and amaze. Event subject to cancellation if cloud cover is heavy.

  • UPDATE - Let's Explore After Dark - The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service invites the public to the Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) on Saturday, September 22, 2012, for a fun and educational evening of exploring the world of nocturnal animals.

    “Let’s Explore After Dark!” begins at 7 p.m. at the Pahranagat NWR campground, three miles south of Alamo, and will conclude at 8:30p.m. Refuge naturalists will lead searches for scorpions and owls while teaching about their amazing nighttime abilities.
