Quail Springs Fire

The Quail Springs Fire was discovered on August 2, 2005. Air tankers and a load of smoke jumpers were sent in to fight the blaze. The fire was declared contained and controlled on August 3, 2005. Approximately 320 acres of the Desert National Wildlife Refuge burned during this lightning caused fire.
