Abstract:
This geo-dataset represents the land ownership status boundary of the Seney National Wildlife Refuge through the ending date given in the Time Period of Content.
Purpose:
The intended application of this data is to serve as a spatial reference of refuge boundaries for other data layers in GIS and mapping as a 24,000 scale, resource grade application. It is specifically not intended to be used as a land survey or representation of land for conveyance or tax purposes.

Process_Description:
The boundary file (FWS1) was imported into ArcInfo 7.1 and projected to UTM Zone 16, NAD83, GRS1980. To ensure accuracy of the boundary, we set the View Scale no greater than 1:5000 and checked the boundary against the DRG mosaic (FWS2). The boundary was saved as a Shapefile and attributed. Upon completion, a printed version of the boundary was examined and approved by both the refuge manager and the USFWS Region 3 Division of Realty. This process was performed by the University of Minnesota in cooperation with the USFWS.
