U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service

Partnerships with other Government Agencies and Outside Organizations

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service engages in partnerships whenever possible to increase effectiveness of initiatives, and stretch our limited budget. Here are some of the partnership efforts in which we are involved:

The U.S. Geological Survey's Biological Resources Division (BRD): The FWS and BRD are cooperating in a three-year intra-agency agreement to develop spatial data on the biological resources and physical characteristics of the Connecticut River watershed ecosystem. This watershed, a seven million acre area that spans four New England states (Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, and New Hampshire), is an important national biological resource. These data will be documented and referenced according to FGDC's Content Standards for Digital Geospatial Metadata, and will be served as part of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI).
