Students Help Restore Wetland Habitat in Bennington, Vermont Date Posted: September 30, 2009 Over 50 high school students and staff from the Southwest Vermont Career Development Center in Bennington, Vermont assisted biologists from the New England Field Office with planting over 250 wetland trees and shrubs in restored wetland habitat. The newly planted habitat will compensate for impacts from two natural resource damage assessment settlements (Burgess Brothers and Tansitor Electronics Superfund Sites in Bennington, Vermont). The Service was thrilled to have the School's support and assistance with the project. The students, studying forestry and horticulture, were eager to help and gained valuable practical experience. This effort was also featured in the Bennington, Vermont's local paper, The Bennington Banner.
