Some fish
species also prey on zebra mussels. Examples include the freshwater drum, a
fish that’s frequently called sheepshead, plus the common carp, yellow perch,
and round goby, another invasive species that’s made its way into the Great
Lakes. Again, these fish can’t consume enough zebra mussels to keep their
populations in check.
