Courtney Newlon

Courtney fishing for bulltrout.Courtney Newlon first joined the Columbia River Fisheries Program Office in the spring of 2003, as part of the Student Career Enhancement Program. Prior to working for the Service, Courtney spent five field seasons on the Mt. Hood National Forest working as a fisheries technician for the Forest Service. Another field season was spent traveling throughout Western California, Oregon and Washington with the Forest Service assessing watershed health as part of the Aquatic Riparian Effectiveness Monitoring Program. Since 2004, she has been working with the Walla Walla bull trout population assessment and physical habitat suitability project under the Water Management and Evaluation team.

Courtney has a B.S. in Fisheries and Wildlife Science from Oregon State University and an A.S. in Natural Resource Technology from Mt. Hood Community College. In her spare time she likes playing soccer, traveling, and hip-hop dancing.
