Comprehensive Conservation Planning

The CCP for Charles M. Russell NWR is a 15-year plan that will address habitat conservation and wildlife-dependent recreational uses.

The staff at Charles M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge (refuge) is nearing completion of a comprehensive conservation plan (CCP) and environmental impact statement (EIS) for the refuge including UL Bend National Wildlife Refuge. A CCP (as it is commonly referred to) provides long-range guidance and management direction for the refuge’s programs.

**May 2012**

We are pleased to announce that the final CCP and EIS has been released. Scroll down this page for links to download the final CCP and EIS or any other project document.

The Service’s final decision will be documented in a record of decision and published in the Federal Register no sooner than 30 days after the final CCP and EIS has been filed with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and distributed to the public. We will begin to carry out the actions identified in the final CCP immediately on publication of the record of decision in the Federal Register. After we issue the record of decision, we will produce the stand-alone CCP (environmental analysis sections are removed) which will be posted to this Web site.
