San Clemente Island lotus (Acmispon dendroideus var. traskiae)
San Clemente Island lotus (previously called San Clemente Island broom) is a federally endangered plant found only on San Clemente Island, which is located 64 miles west of San Diego, off the southern California coast. It is a member of the pea family and has slender erect green branches with each leaf having three to five leaflets. It also has small yellow flowers that are arranged in one to five flowered clusters.
