coastal California Gnatcatcher

The coastal California gnatcatcher measures about 4.5 inches in length. It has dark blue-gray feathers on its back and grayish-white feathers on its underside. This bird feeds on insects and inhabits coastal sage scrub habitat in portions of southern California and Mexico.
