Buck Island National Wildlife Refuge

The Visitors Center, 2 Mile interpretive trail, cactus garden and approximately 12 miles of hiking trails are available 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday thru Friday. Offices are closed Saturday, Sunday and on Federal Holiday's.

The Cabo Rojo Salt Flats Interpretive Center operated by the Refuge friends group is open from Wednesday through Sunday, 8:00am to 4:30 pm

Public Use Regulations
Licensed motorized vehicles are allowed on the main entrance roads and designated parking areas. Motorized vehicles are not allowed off the main roads. Visitors are reminded to bring drinking water, sun screen, binoculars, insect repellant and a hat when hiking. Please do not leave refuse on the trails.
	All Firearms are prohibited.	All fires are prohibited.
	Horses and horseback riding are prohibited.	Pets must be on a leash, under the owner’s control at all times.
	Camping is prohibited.	All off road vehicles are prohibited.
	Hunting and possessing any animals (living or dead) is prohibited.	Littering on Refuge lands are prohibited.

* Other activities may require a special use permit before taking place.

The Refuge is open for daylight use only. Where posted, unauthorized entry is prohibited. Searching for or removing any object of antiquity or artifacts is prohibited. Removing plants, trees and wildlife for any use is prohibited. No domestic or wild animals may be brought or released onto Refuge lands.
