Location:

Travel east on 101, at kilometer 12.2 turn right onto Desengaño rd. Use caution, the road is an unimproved dirt road.



The easiest entry is at the pedestrian gates in Maguayo on Highway 305 or near Hacienda Desengaño on Highway 306 south of Highway 101.

Trails offer hiking and birding opportunities, available during daylight hours, Monday thru Friday. Access to the observation and pier is through the last Refuge gate on Desengaño road. Parking and interpretive kiosk available.
