How do I get to the refuge and/or Bulls Island?
Except for the Sewee Visitor Center, Refuge Headquarters and Garris Landing, the refuge, including Bulls Island, is only accessible by boat. Access can be by personal boat or through Coastal Expeditions at (843)881-4582 which provides a ferry service for the refuge.

Can I ride a bicycle on Bulls Island?
Bicycles are only allowed on the island roads. Bikes are not permitted on the beach or nature trails.

Are there facilities on Bulls Island?
There are restrooms, a covered shelter, and picnic area. Travel on the island is by foot or bicycle.

Where is Cape Romain Lighthouse?
There are two lighthouses, both located on Lighthouse Island. The island can only be reached by personal boat or through Coastal Expeditions which provides a ferry service for two annual lighthouse tours, offered in the spring and fall.

How do I volunteer for the loggerhead sea turtle program?
Contact Tricia Lynch at the Sewee Visitor Center at (843) 928-3368. The best time is from March through July. Please see the Volunteers web page for volunteer opportunities available throughout the year.
