Events at Bon Secour.
The refuge trails and beaches are open yearround during daylight hours only. Stop by the office to view a refuge video and look at several wildlife exhibits during the week, from 7am to 3:30pm.
Several times during the year, we host special events. Check the website often for updates, and don't forget to like us on Facebook to get refuge news delivered right to your news feed!
Free Refuge Tours
Come join us for the free guided bird tour
Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge will be offering free guided Bird Walks on Tuesdays and Wednesdays of each week starting January 15, 2013 and continuing until February 27, 2013. The tours are free to the public however a reservation is required. Beginner and experienced bird watchers, young and old, are welcome to come out and enjoy the beauty of birds and nature itself. The walks are limited to 12 people per tour and will consist of a 1-2 hour round trip walk on the Jeff Friend Trail. The walks will start at 8:00am and will meet at the Jeff Friend Trail parking lot.
We request at least 24 hours notice for cancellations. We encourage you to bring binoculars but they are not necessary to enjoy the walk. Restroom facilities are available at the refuge office.

Walk along the shores and discover why these dunes are so important
Come join us for a walk along the gulf shore and discover why this dune habitat is so important. Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge will be offering free guided Dynamic Dunes walking tours every Thursday starting January 17, 2013 and continuing until February 28, 2013. The tours are free to the public however a reservation is required. The tours are limited to 12 people per tour and will consist of a 1-2 hour walk. The tours will start at 9:00am and will meet at the Mobile street parking lot.
We request at least 24 hours notice for cancellations. We encourage you to bring binoculars but they are not necessary to enjoy the dunes. Restroom facilities are available at the refuge office.

2013 Guided Tour Schedule
Tours identified as birdwalks are for both beginning and experienced birders. All other tours focus on plants, ecology, history of the area, and any wildlife that you may encounter along the way.
