Getting There . . .
The trip to Block Island will require a boat ride or an airplane flight. Please check with your travel agent or search the Internet for ferries and airlines serving Block Island. Passenger ferries run from Newport, RI and Montauk, Long Island, NY during the summer months. Passenger and automobile ferry service runs from Point Judith, RI all year. The refuge is about 4 miles from the ferry landing on Block Island. Taxis and bicycle or moped rentals are all available on the island. The Beane Point facility is located on the North End of Block Island. From the ferry terminal on Block Island, turn right. At the first stop sign turn right onto Corn Neck Road. Continue to its end, and from the parking lot, walk the beaches of the Refuge. The coordinates for your GPS are: 41.197075, -71.586456.
