In 2003 the National Wildlife Refuge System celebrated 100 years of service and Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge celebrated its 70th birthday. These two events were officially commemorated by Blackwater NWR and the Friends of Blackwater during our March 15, 2003 Eagle Festival at the Refuge.
