Photography

Photographers who visit Bear River Refuge are welcome to photograph from the 12 mile auto tour route. A variety of habitat is host to many different species of shorebirds, water birds, waterfowl, and small mammals. Public access is restricted to Forest Street and the auto tour route in order to minimize the disturbance to the wildlife.
The North American Nature Photographers Association and Friends of the Bear River Bird Refuge provided funds to construct two photography blinds. The Clearfield Job Corp United Brother of the Carpenter volunteered hours to build the blinds. The photography blinds are available to photographers by reservation only. Anyone using the blinds unlawfully will be fined. Call the Refuge for reservations and more details at (435)723-5887.
