Refuge Staff Assistance

The Refuge staff is eager to make your visit to Back Bay an enjoyable experience. The staff is a good source for wildlife and wildlands information and investigative techniques. They can also suggest study sites to meet specific activity needs, inform you of seasonal wildlife trends, and unusual sightings.

The Refuge staff can specifically offer the following:

  • Planning assistance.
  • Outdoor classroom guides and other related resource materials.
  • Environmental Education Workshops.
  • Parking areas for school buses.
  • Greetings and introductory talk when arriving at the Refuge.
  • A small Visitor Contact Station for viewing wildlife related resource materials.
  • A small auditorium with seating capacity for 30 individuals.
  • Equipment for viewing audio/ visual materials (slides, 16mm films, and video tapes) in the auditorium.
  • Toilet facilities and drinking water.
  • Refuge brochures.
  • Outdoor classroom sites.
  • Sampling equipment; i.e.. sampling containers, dip nets, buckets, thermometers, etc.
