Partners for Fish and Wildlife at Audubon Refuge
In 1987 the FWS initiated the N.D. Private Lands Wildlife Extension Program now called the Partners For Fish and Wildlife Program (PFFW). The program is designed to reduce conflict, enhance private wetland and upland habitat, and increase production of waterfowl and other wildlife. The program pays landowners to implement various waterfowl enhancement techniques on their property. Funding for the program comes from a variety of private, state and Federal sources. It is through this approach that the FWS and private landowners can become partners in waterfowl and wetland conservation. To date, in the Audubon Wetland Management District, the Partners For Fish and Wildlife Program has completed over 1,000 projects. Projects completed include: wetland restorations and creations, rotational grazing systems and planting cropland back to grass, both native and tame grasses have been planted. If you would like information about any of these projects, please contact us at (701) 442-5474.
