District Location

Driving Directions:

• From Interstate 94 take Valley City Exit 292.

• Go North on 8th Avenue (down the hill) to the first stop light.

• Go right on Main Street (I94 business loop).

• Continue east on Main Street and go left on Central Avenue (at the first stop light).

• Continue north on Central Avenue and go right on 12th Street (by Jefferson School).

• Continue east on 12th Street until you come to a 4-way stop and go left.

• Continue north under the "Highline" railroad bridge, cross the Sheyenne River, cross the railroad tracks, and take the first left after the grain elevator (the highway you turn on is not marked but is called County Road 19 or "River Road").

• Continue northwest on River Road for approximately 1.5 miles.

• Watch for a small sign on the right side of the road pointing to the Fish Hatchery.

• Take a left, cross the railroad tracks and take an immediate right (if you cross the bridge that goes over the Sheyenne River you have gone too far).

• You should see the large, brown Hatchery and Wetland District entrance sign on your right.

• Continue down the driveway and the District office will be the first brick building on your left. There is a small parking lot next to the building where you can park.

• If you watch closely there should be signs along this entire route that point to the Fish Hatchery, Maryvale, and Baldhill Dam.
