Wildlife Observation and PhotographyBird-WatchingOpportunities for bird-watching are excellent at Arrowwood. A bird list is available identifying 250 species of birds found on the Refuge. The lake shore around the Warbler Woodland Watchable Wildlife Area and the tour route road are two popular birding areas. Visitors may walk into other parts of the Refuge to observe wildlife.
From the concealment of a viewing blind, you may observe dancing sharp tailed grouse on the refuge in April and early May. The blind is open to the public by reservation. The Warbler Woodland Watchable Wildlife Area, located on the east side of Arrowwood Lake, is a popular bird watching location. Sharp tailed grouse and white tailed deer can be seen year-round. The best time for viewing geese and tundra swans is October; numerous species of ducks can be observed from April through October.
