WRP Executive Committee Meeting
Funding - The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has requested that the WRP submit its funding request for l998. The coordinator will prepare a draft budget request and fax to EXCOM members on May 11, l998.
Fall l998 WRP meeting - The WRP will meet in Denver on September 29th and 30th, l998 at the Bureau of Reclamation offices on the federal center. Agenda topics will b determined after discussion with Panel members.
Mitten Crab Workshop - Discussion of WRP support for Mitten Crab Workshop proposed for California in l998 or l999. If the membership approves, this workshop should be supported.
Western Governors Association - Discussion of outcome of briefing by Max and Linda of the WGA. WGA is interested in having an IPA on Invasive species within their office. Coordination of the WPA could be one aspect of this position. The coordinator will prepare an e-mail to members on WGA.
Western Aquatic Plant Management Society has written a letter to WPA describing the WARMS and stating that at their annual Meeting in March l998 the membership voted unanimously to work with the WRP to develop and coordinate management of aquatic plants in the West. The WARMS suggested that the WPS add the WAPMS to future mailings and consider joint meetings. The coordinator will prepare a letter to the WAPMS supporting these suggestions.
Geographic Subcommittee - The geographic subcommittee will meet on May ll, l998 at 2:00 PM.
The committee is requested to submit a list of pros and cons for geographic structure of the Panel to the EXCOM by June l, 1998.
